It’s that time of the year again when a lot of us have to say goodbye to summer and hello to school. I know that I don’t like going back to school but it does mean that I can start my back to school prep!
I do the obligatory supply shopping but, I enjoy the pampering much more. So, my first order of business was to pay Brows on Upper 15th a visit. This was the first time I ever got my eyebrows done but, Esther made me feel so comfortable! She explained to me the differences between a hard wax, soft wax and threading and in just seconds my eyebrows were on point! Thanks Esther, I’ll definitely be in again! After I got my brows done, I headed over to my friends at File n’ Style to get a pedicure. I decided to show some school spirit and get red and white polish while hanging out with the adorable shop dog. Finally, I figured I would get a massage at Eden
since I spent a month with a huge backpack on my back! Once I was relaxed and loose, I was ready to finish the rest of my back to school pampering!
After I got my eyebrows done, my toenails done and I was nice and relaxed from my massage, I decided that I would go learn some makeup tricks from Amy at Glo Professionals. First things first when putting on makeup for school, don’t over-do it or else you might end up sweating it all off! I know I would! So, we started off by applying a light layer of the Moisturizing Tint SPF 30+ which not only evens out my complexion but gives me protection against the sun. The next step was to apply some of The Mint Balm because nobody wants chapped lips! Once my lips were nice an moisturized, I went ahead and put on some blush and contour using the Shimmer Brick. Not only did it give me some color, it also helped to set the foundation which will help it to stay in place all day. The final steps were mascara and lips. For mascara I used their Lash Boosting Mascara and for the lips I used the Cream Glaze Crayon in the shade Heirloom. Thanks Amy for helping me out with a fabulous makeup routine. The thing that I liked the most about Glo was the fact that the makeup is all mineral based which helps to not clog your pores. Who doesn’t want nice, unclogged skin!?
The final things that I needed to so be ready for school was to get new glasses and a new backpack. I set up an appointment at See Eyewear, picked out some new frames and got my eyes checked. I love See because they have a wide array of glasses that are very trendy and aren’t your typical frames. I finally narrowed it down to one pair and I’m so excited to show them off at school! Now that I can see, I needed to buy a new backpack. I bought mine from Herschel Supply Company. The company is based out of Vancouver, Canada and they make several styles of backpacks. I decided that I would go with the Parker bag in Khaki/Woodland Camo and I know everyone is going to want one too!
I hope you all have a great school year!!
