Usually during the summer I go off to camp but this year my family decided that we were taking a family beach vacation to San Diego. We started off the trip with a quick 24 hours in LA where my boyfriend, Carlo, and I went to Universal Studios! It was his first time getting to experience Harry Potter world and he absolutely loved it. As did I! After we spent some time at Universal we made our way down to Venice Beach. This was a great way to start off the trip and it got even better when we headed to San Diego. Here is just a short overview of the amazing things to do when in San Diego.

First, Legoland is an absolute must. Even if you don’t ride any rollercoasters, all of the structures are incredible. My favorite section was the mini land USA which has scenes from New York and Las Vegas!

The next place you definitely have to visit is the world famous San Diego Zoo. I could spend all day there especially when they have koalas and a giant panda!

Another awesome thing we did was ride through caves on a sea kayak with Hike Bike Kayak and we even got to get up close to some sea lions!

The real ocean experience though was fishing with Captain Lou. We went almost 8 miles off shore and started our hunt for dinner which ended up being some red rock fish. But the best part of the entire trip was we got the ride along side almost 7 dolphins! If you’re ever in San Diego I’d highly recommend ocean fishing with On The Fly Fishing Charter.

Even though we had all of these crazy activities planned, it’s always good to just relax on the beach and maybe catch a few waves on a boogie board. Be sure to wear sunscreen though, we got some pretty bad sunburns!

Yes, my family takes some insane but fantastic trips and I have loved each and every one of them but, sometimes it’s good to just take a break and lay on the beach and watch the sunset. Until next time San Diego.
